WA8801-CS 890601 PRESS RELEASE
Starting approximately June 1, 1989, the north bound traffic on MacArthur
Boulevard, just south of Sandy Lake Road, will be detoured over to the
south bound side. Therefore, there will be two-way traffic on what is
normally the south bound lanes. All drivers are asked to be extremely
cautious when driving through this area. This detour will start around
June 1, 1989, and last approximately one month.
This detour is necessary to allow a City contractor to work in the median
and the north bound lanes, while placing new water lines underground.
This water line is part of the City Capital Improvements Program and will
be connecting the 4 million gallon ground water storage tank and pumping
station (both under construction), at Sandy Lake Road and Kimbel Kourt,
with the rest of the City's potable water distribution system, including
the elevated water storage tank on Southwestern Boulevard, west of Coppell
Road. This entire project started in February, 1989, and is scheduled to
be completed in July of this year.
Any one having any questions about this detour, can call the City
Engineer's office at 462-0022.
