Gentlemen,
This letter is to confirm to you that we are aware that the revised
structural drawings for the Fairways at Riverchase are still under
review at your department, and that as of 11/10/93 Metroplex
Retaining Walls, Inc. is constructin9 the retaining wall systems
at its own risk. Due to the favorable reviews that we have
recieved in our previous discussions concerning the new design, we
feel comfortable in continuing our construction.
If there is any other information that we, or our structural
engineer can provide to you, please do not hesitate to call,

This letter is to clarify the type of backfill m,at~riai being used on the abov. e project. ?!ease
also refer to my letter of November 11, 1993, m reference to the revls~l retalntn$ wall designs.
My comments with regard to using broken concrete in.s .t~.d of gr.av, el w? int~.nd~ to .m?.~ the.
following. The ftll material used, shall be the material remaining., xrom ,,the wasnout. ~ze' ox
concrete mixer trucks. Thh material consists of aggregates, rangtng f/rom 3/8 to 1 1/2 in s ,
sandy fines a~d Cement particles, and concrete pi~ces no larger than 4" in diameter.
I consider use of this material to be acceptable backfill in lieu of gravel as sl~ifi~l on our
plans dated November 8, 1993.
