LANE CLOSURE ADVISORY – MacARTHUR BLVD AT BELT LINE ROAD (COPPELL)
Please be advised that the City of Coppell will be reconstructing the intersection of MacArthur Blvd. and Belt Line Road
in their city. However, this major intersection is very close to the north city limits of Irving so it is expected that there
with be traffic impact extending into the City of Irving and many Irving residents, businesses, and visitors will be affected
as well as the thousands of motorists who travel MacArthur Blvd. and Belt Line Road to and from outside of Irving.
According to the City of Coppell, lane closures will start at approximately 12:00 noon on Monday, July 14, 2014. The
project is expected to be complete within fifteen (15) working days, although the contractor has been given a maximum
of 30 days to reopen the roadways.
Belt Line Road will be completely closed either side of the MacArthur Blvd. intersection allowing not through traffic on
Belt Line Road.
MacArthur Blvd., however, will maintain one lane of through traffic in both directions during the course of the
construction. The reduction from three lanes to one lane in each direction will be somewhat mitigated by there being
no stopping for Belt Line Road, however, delays especially during peak traffic periods can be expected.
Detour information and updates on the project are being maintained by the City of Coppell on their website at:
