EST. $ +\-BIDS FINANCIAL COMMENTS:,~//~' Agenda Request Form - Revised 2/99 Document Name: ~07273 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. ~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING SECTION 8- 3-1(A) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO CHANGE THE AREAS OF NO PARKING ZONES IN DESIGNATED AREAS ON HEARTZ ROAD; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 8-3-1A of Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances be and the same is hereby amended to change the areas of no parking zones on Heartz Road to read as follows: "Sec. 8-3-1 NO PARKING ON SPECIFIC STREETS & IN CERTAIN SCHOOL ZONES A. NO PARKING ON SPECIFIC STREETS It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand or park a vehicle at any time in violation of any official sign, curb marking, or street marking that prohibits, regulates, or restricts the stopping, standing or parking of a vehicle at the times designated for the following streets: 5. HEARTZ ROAD on the east side from its intersection v, ith Parkway Boulevard south to a point thirty-five (35') feet south of the south curb line of Park Meadow Way, at all times. 6. HEARTZ ROAD on the east side from a point thirty-five (35') feet south of the south curb line of Park Meadow Way and Heartz Road to a point three hundred ninety-five (395') 27350 1 £eet south of the south curb line of Park Meadow between the hours of 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of each week. 7. I-IEARTZ ROAI~ on the east side fi.om a point three hundred ninety-five (395') feet south of the south curb line of Park Meadow Way to its intersection with Bethel School Road, at all times. 9. The traffic engineer shall erect official signs, curb markings, or street markings giving notice that parking, stopping or standing of vehicles is prohibited at the locations designated herein. That all provisions of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and all other provisions not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. SI~CTION 4. That should any word, phrase, paragraph, section or phrase of this ordinance or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, be held to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole, or any part or provision thereof other than the part so decided to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, and shall not affect the validity of the Code of Ordinances as a whole. 27350 2 SECTION 6. That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions or of this ordinance or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the Municipal Court of the City of Coppell, Texas, shall be subjected to a fine not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense; and each and every day such violation is continued shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense. SECTION 7. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publication of the caption, as the law and charter in such cases provide.
