Dear Ken:
Attached is a copy of a letter from Reed Engineering Group
regarding the subgrade stabilization for the above project.
Mr. Reed originally recommended two percent cement to be used
in the stabilization process, however it is my understanding
that the City desires at least four percent.
I asked Mr. Reed to indicate the application rate to achieve
four percent and as his letter indicates, this will require
18 pounds per square yard.
Please accept this letter as a recommended change from lime
treated subgrade to cement treated subgrade with four percent
cement. A change order has been issued to the contractor and
this change shall be reflected on the as built paving plans.
Please respond to
this change. If you have any questions

As you are aware, we recommended a minimum of two percent cement
used in order to.stabilize the paving subgrade. We understand Ge
City of Coppell is requiring that four .percent cement bt added.
Therefore, an application rate of 18 pouuds per square Yard is
rscom=ended in order to satisfy City requirements.
We trust this is the information you need. If any questions arise,
do not hesitate to call.
