Subject: Pavement Marking Detail
Suzan,
As I was
looking over the revised pavement marking detail that you sent me,
I noticed some significant changes from the previous details. In
particular, the dimensions on the left turn lanes
appear to have changed
from 10.67' to 10.0' (from backofcurb to centerline of the buttons). With
the revised button configuration, it would leave a left turn lane of just
over 9'
in width. Additionally, I want to confirm the lane widths for
through lanes. The revised detail does not give a distance to the buttons
from backofcurb for two through lanes. It
appears that they are shown in
the center and not offset .33' as shown in the original detail. I just want
to make sure that we are not missing something or misunderstanding the
revised
detail before we make revisions to our pavement marking plans. I
appreciate your time and have a great day.
