Subject: Dwarf Crape Myrtle plantings
Michael & Travis,
I have a huge concern over the recently planted dwarf crape myrtles in the Denton Tap
median. The spec calls for 18” to 24” dwarf red crape myrtles. The plants going in are
twice that height if not taller and don’t appear to be a dwarf variety. The plants have
created major turning visibility issues, that must be corrected immediately. I need for
you to confirm that the crape myrtles are indeed the dwarf variety that is in the
spec.. The pictures that were submitted were clearly not this tall. If they do indeed get
confirmed to be the dwarf variety, they will need to be trimmed back to meet the 18” to
24” spec. This must be done immediately, like today! Do not continue planting the
crape myrtles creating more problems with visibility until this is resolved.
