Based on the information presented (and attached), the City of Coppell will accept your request for variance to lime
treatment of the fire lanes (providing 8” thick concrete as opposed to 6” with 8” lime treatment) and your request to
drive over the steel outside the fire lanes (only private paving).
Due to discussion from the Geotech regarding sandy soils, we need to look at the work being done for Northwest
Drive. It may be prudent to either provide cem-lime stabilization or cement stabilization. We need to discuss further,
together.

Please see attached letter from our geotech regarding lime at the Park 121 pavement sections. They explain that the
sandy soil would not benefit from lime, and thus the design has added an inch of concrete already. “…Therefore, the
lime treatment of the fire lane pavement subgrade is not necessary for this project.”
Please let us know if this will suffice, we would like to be able to reschedule Monday’s pavement pour.
