Re:Variance Request: Pavement Placement Methods
Prologis Park 121
Coppell, Texas
Rone Project No. 15-20061
Dear Mr. Marshall:
Prologis would like to request a variance to allow the paving contractor to drive over the rebar in
the private pavement areas. The fire lanes would be placed via concrete pump truck as requested
in the pre-construction meeting. Prologis will dissolve all responsibility from the City of Coppell with
respect to the pavement construction methods in the private pavement areas.
It is the contractor’s responsibility to provide clean, non-deformed rebar prior to placement of
concrete pavement. If any rebar is deformed or dirty, the contractor will make any required repairs
prior to paving.
Rone Engineering Services, Ltd. (Rone) supports this request, and sees no issues from a
geotechnical standpointif construction is performed as requested above. This is a common
pavement construction method, and is consistent with industry standards in the vicinity of this
project.
Please feel free to contact usif you have any questionsregarding this letter.
Respectfully submitted,
