(Rone) has been requested to provide additional recommendations for pavements for the referenced project. This request was made by Mr. Casey Dillon with Prologis on January 5, 2017. This letter should be considered an addendum to our referenced Geotechnical Engineering Reports 15-20061.1 dated May 20, 2015 and 15-20061.2 dated June 2, 2015. This letter should not be considered separately from the geotechnical reports. Based on the information presented in Standard Detail 2290, Standard Construction Details, City of Coppell, the City of Coppell requires fire lane pavements consist of a minimum 6-inch reinforced concrete pavement supported on lime treated subgrade. The borings performed at the site indicate the subgrade may consist of predominantly sandy soils. As stated in our reports, sandy soils will not significantly benefit from lime treatment. Based on our experience and general industrial practice, the concrete pavement thickness can be increased by one (1) inch in lieu of lime treatment in order to provide a stronger pavement section. Fire lane pavements planned for this project will consist of a minimum of 8-inch reinforced concrete pavement section. It is our opinion that an 8-inch reinforced concrete section supported on compacted subgrade should be adequate to support the anticipated fire lane traffic. Therefore, the lime treatment of the fire lane pavement subgrade is not necessary for this project. All other information presented in our original geotechnical reports remains unchanged. Thank you for the opportunity to provide additional services to you for this project. Please call if you have any questions regarding this letter. Respectfully submitted, Mark D. Gray, P.E. Thusha P.
