Saf-T-Mount Section The Saf-T-Mount section is a unique device that allows the climber to dismount from the Saf-T-Climb system al predetermined points along the climb wilhout jeopardizing safety. The worker may pivot 90° from the climb onto a platform or other safe work area before detaching from the system. The sleeve can then be removed from the rail so that the climber may continue the climb on another ladder or other workers may pass on the same ladder. Later, the Saf-T-Lok Sleeve is easily remounted onto the device, allowing the worker position Io continue the ascent or descenl. For maximum safety, before dismountin or remounting, the climber ~s~ould secure himself with a Ionyard to a suitable anchor point. The Saf-T-Mount section is designed for permanent installation within the Saf-T-Notch rail at any desired point and must be included when the system is originally installed. Saf-T-Mount Sections are not required at lhe beginning or the end of a climb. The Saf-T-Mount Sealion can be used in variety of work situations. Examples include: work sites where more than one climber is required to work at different levels of the same climb; above water where the surface level may than e; installed at intervals on climbs within chimneys where ma~nt~fis are used to allow access to the carrier rail for emergency exits; in the grain storage industry where emergency escape from silos and storage bins may be required. The Saf-T-Mount Section is 9" long replacing 6" of rail. I1 is available in galvanized, stainless steel or aluminum. Other Fall Prevention NO-Cables & annarched rail depend on friction, which can fail-especially if slippery from rain, snow or ice. Cages allow climber to fall as much as 30'. Climbers failing on any of these systems may be injured by ladder or cage members. NO-Cables are flexible and unsteady along the entire length of the ladder as they are secured only at top & bottom of dimb. Cages become pad of structure, bat offer only a feeling of protection, instead of actual physical protection. NO-Cables require unnatural & fatiguing climbing position, using the arms to pull the dimbet up the ladder. Sleeve and cable most be manipulated during climb. Backpacks and tools get caught in cage, endangering climber's safety. NO-Difficult to rescue an injured climber in cage or on cable. Rescuer may have to detach injured climber from cable in order to get him dawn the ladder. NO-Cables slacken over time-require periodic retensieaing, Can deteriorate from the inside with no visible signs on the outside. NO-Cages & offsefiing platforms are very expensive. Require costam design, manufadure and skilled lebor for installation. Cable systems are cheap, but offer only second rate protection. IIr Why Sat-T-Climb rigid rail fall prevention systems?
