slraight or curved. On water tanks, chimneys, antennas,
communication towers, wind generators, drilling rigs, ships'
masts-or any other slructure-Saf-T-Climb rigid rail fall prevention
systems give climbers lhe protection and security lhey need to be
effective and productive. And, because the Saf-T-Climb system has
over 35 years of safe climbing experience and is so easy to use,
workers use it? Saf-T-C]imb is frequently the specified rigid rail
ladder safety device used by industry and governmenl.
The components for Saf-T-Climb syslems are: Sol-T-Notch Carrier
Rail, Ladder Rung Clamps, Saf-T-Lok Sleeve and Saf-T-Bell. Easily
inslalled by your own personnel at less lhan 1/3 lhe cost of a cage,
the Saf-T-Nolch Carrier Rail all'aches to any ladder or climbing
surface. A Saf-T-Lok Sleeve with lacking pawl atlaches Io a
climber's belt. The Saf-T-Climb system permits safe worker
movement. Any slip or fall is stopped by the locking adion of the
Saf-T-L~k Sleeve.
Saf-T-Climb rail is easily retrofilted to existing ladders, or
designed into new construction. Installation of a Saf-T-Climb fall
prevention system means instant compliance with OSHA climbing
safety regulations.
Sof-T-Climb systems are an excellenl choice for quality,
experience and service.
Saf-T-Climb is accepted throughout
government and industry
Saf-T-Climb systems have had wide acceptance throughout
government and industry for over 35 years. Safety equipment
provides pratealton for Ihe health and well-being of your
employees. All componenls of the system meet Federal
Specification ~R-S-O01301 (FAA) for Type 1 prevention, plus
Saf-T-Climb has been specified for use by the U.S. Army Corps of
En ineers, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, Coast Guard and the FM, as
w~et~ as by many state governments and agencies.
Sat-T-Climb meets
OSHA regulations 1910.27
OSHA requires that all ladders more than 20' long have fall
protection on lhem. Wilh Sat-T-Climb you can salisfy these
requirements by simply installing the Sat-T-Climb system on the
ladder. Sat-T-Climb can be used on ladders of any length in one
continuous climb.
A Sat-T-Climb system means instant OSHA compliance
with a minimum of expense and labor.
OSHA also requires that ladders more that 30' long with
existing cages be modified with offseuing platforms and ladders so
that there are no continuous stretches of ladder over 30'. When
the ladder already has a cage, ou can still comply with
OSHA regulations by instam'rig the Sat-T-Climb system
within the existing cage without the expense of adding
offsettin platforms. Sat-T-Climb systems meet all OSHA
slandards ?or ladder climbing safety. And these systems not only
provide more positive fall prevention, but you can install one for
much less than the cost of modifying your cage.
Sat-T-Climb makes rescue easy
When each climber uses Sat-T-Climb, any number of workers
can climb on the same structure al lhe same time with complete
individual safety. It is recommended that at least one additional
sleeve and belt be available at each installation so that in an
emergency the rescuer, too, will have the full protection of the
Sat-T-Climb system.

Saf-T-Climb Harness
The Saf-T-Climb Harness (for ANSI
Type 1 systems) is designed to
distribute the impact forces of a fall
over the thighs, buttocks, chest and
shoulders. it is recommended for use
where quick rescue from above might
be necessary. Front Saf-T-Climb ring is
provided for attachment to lhe
Saf-T-Lok Sleeve. The harnessis
' constructed of woven nylon, reinforced
with hather grommets. It features forged steel buckles, front and
back "D" rings, shoulder rings and adjustable padded straps.
The Saf-T-Lanyard allows a worker to attach to the structure,
ladder rungs, stringers, or other suitable anchor points, when
detached from the security of the Saf-T-Climb equipment. It can
also be used to aid in rescuing a worker who is unconsdous or
disabled during a down-hoh climb. When lhe lanyard is attached to
the Saf-T-Climb Harness, a worker can be pulled to safety. It is
made of 1/2" diameter nylon rope with double lacking snaps at
each end and a shock absorbing device which allows for gradual
deceleration. Can be adjusted in hnglh from 36" to 72". This device
cannot be reused once a fall has occurred. The lanyard meets the
requirements of OSHA 191 O, 1915, and 1926.
Saf-T-Pivot Rest Piece
The Saf-T-Pivot Rest Piece allows the climber to turn 90° in
order to stand safely on a resl platform. The sleeve will rotate on
the rail, but cannot be disengaged. This provides for the climber's
safety while gaining safe footing on the platform. The Saf-T-Pivot
Rest Piece is especially useful on very long climbs, where platforms
are provided for rest only.
TIre 3' !ong Rest Piece must be installed with the
original equipment.
Removable Extension Kit
The Sol-T-Climb Removable Extension Kit is used in manholes,
hatchways or any other installation where access to the ladder is

The Removable Extension Rail and Tie Down Red are porta e~
and can be used on any ladder where a Mandril has been
permanently installed. To use, slide the Saf-T-Lok Sleeve onto the
Removable Extension Rail and place Ihe rail over the Mandril on
the ladder. Removable rail is secured to the ladder by tightening the
threaded Tie Down Rod into the mandril. The Saf-T-Lok Sleeve is
then allached to the climber's Saf-T-Belt while both feet are firmly
planted on a solid surface. The climber pivots into position on the
ladder, ready for descent, using the Removable Extension Rail as a
safely hand hold.
Extension Kit components are:
1 Standard Saf-T-Notch raft: 4-1/2' length
with top 2' of guide channel removed to
permit Saf-T-Lok Sleeve Io turn 360°.
2. Tie Down Rod: Assembly with rod threaded
at bottom to attach to the Mandril.
3. Mandrft: Permanently installed 6" inside of
the top section of the Saf-T-Notch rail. Solid
bar machined on both ends, drilled and
tapped at the top, for threading Tie Down
Red. Secured in place with hvo cap screws.
Use of the kit at multiple sites will require the
permanent installation of a Mandril on each
ladder.

Saf-T-Mount Section
The Saf-T-Mount section is a
unique device that allows the climber
to dismount from the Saf-T-Climb
system al predetermined points along
the climb wilhout jeopardizing safety.
The worker may pivot 90° from the
climb onto a platform or other safe
work area before detaching from the
system. The sleeve can then be
removed from the rail so that the
climber may continue the climb on
another ladder or other workers may
pass on the same ladder. Later, the
Saf-T-Lok Sleeve is easily remounted
onto the device, allowing the worker
position Io continue the
ascent or descenl. For maximum
safety, before dismountin or
remounting, the climber ~s~ould
secure himself with a Ionyard to a suitable anchor point.
The Saf-T-Mount section is designed for permanent installation
within the Saf-T-Notch rail at any desired point and must be
included when the system is originally installed. Saf-T-Mount
Sections are not required at lhe beginning or the end of a climb.
The Saf-T-Mount Sealion can be used in variety of work
situations. Examples include: work sites where more than one
climber is required to work at different levels of the same climb;
above water where the surface level may than e; installed at
intervals on climbs within chimneys where ma~nt~fis are used to
allow access to the carrier rail for emergency exits; in the grain
storage industry where emergency escape from silos and storage
bins may be required. The Saf-T-Mount Section is 9" long
replacing 6" of rail. I1 is available in galvanized, stainless steel
or aluminum.
Mounting Brackets for special applications
Poles, tower legs, ladders with unusual rung configurations and
some other types of installations will require special brackets. We
have mounting brackets to meet most needs in stock and available
for immediate shipment. In addition, if your installation requires
unusual auachment, we will fabricate the necessary brackets. These
brackets must be installed at the top and bottom of the
full climb and every 4" between.
Saf-T-Pivot Dismount Section
The Saf-T-Pivot dismount sadion dramatically reduces the
danger workers encounter when dismounting at the top of a ladder.
It is designed to extend 4'6" above floor level or 2' above parapet
or railing heighl. The climber can rotate com lately around the rail
in order to gain safe footing BEFORE detaclin from the system.
The sleeve can then be removed from the top o?the rail if desired...
Standard dismount sealions are a minimum of 8', bul longer
custom lengths are available; call the fadory for details.
