Enclosed is a letter from our soils engineer, Reed Engineering, regarding the pavement
design for the above project.
As this project is privately owned and privately funded, and the pavement areas will not
be part of a public way which would be maintained by the City of Coppell, we should be
allowed to the construct pavement as our engineer recommends as an acceptable
construction method.
Please call me to discuss the process MEPC will need to follow to have this construction
method approved.

Four thousand pounds per square inch (psi) concrete over a
recompacted subgrade will be used in lieu of 3,000 psi concrete
over 6 inches of lime stabilized subgrade. The proposed design
will meet or exceed the number of repetitions of an 18-kip axle
load for the 3,000 psi design.
Reinforcing steel consists of wire mesh in lieu of steel
reinforcing. The equivalent steel is provided by the wire mesh to
control shrinkage cracks.
With respect tp sealing pavement saw
