There is no colored curing agent used to achieve these colors and any topically applied sealers or coatings will affect the final appearance. Sampling or mockups provided through your local Bomanite Licensed Contractor is strongly recommended prior to final color selection. Release Agent is intended as a surface highlighting product only, and will not match the color chart exactly. Certain combinations of Color Hardener and Release Agents can produce dramatically different color appearances than anticipated due to pigment interaction. When selecting Bomanite Integral Color, variations can be expected due to variations in raw materials within the concrete itself such as cement, sand and water content. Additionally mixes replacing a portion of the Portland Cement with recycled content may greatly affect final appearances. Consistency of color of cement and aggregates as well as the content of the concrete mix design is critical in achieving uniform color from batch to batch. 4” to 5” slumps are recommended. Higher slumps should be achieved by using water reducing or plasticizing admixtures, NOT by adding water. The addition of extra water to the mix will affect the uniformity of the color. Uneven curing and/or rapid drying of the concrete will also affect the uniformity of the color. Custom colors are available for all products listed with adequate notice, contact your local Bomanite Licensed Contractor or Bomanite for information on custom color selections. Bomanite and Bomacron tend to have a rustic feel and certain variations in color, texture and geometric precision are expected. Both are hand- crafted from a large mass of concrete under varying jobsite conditions and, therefore, do not have perfect uniformity. If you are unfamiliar with the appearance of Bomanite or Bomacron, we recommend that you contact your local Bomanite Licensed Contractor to view actual installations or samples. Custom Patterns The patterns depicted on these pages are only some of the patterns that are currently available from your local Bomanite Licensed Contractor and The Bomanite Company. If you are unable to find a pattern that fits your particular project needs, consult your local Bomanite Licensed Contractor regarding the design and production of custom patterns. The product is made of the highest quality pigments, as well as other ingredients designed to enhance the color and improve the pigment dispersion, workability and finishing performance of the concrete. No fillers are used in Bomanite Integral Colors. This coloring method can be used with the installation of Bomanite and Bomacron cast-in-place colored, textured and imprinted concrete paving and flooring. This method can also be utilized for other colored concrete flatwork applications (salt finishes, broom finishes, rotary finishes), as well as vertical surfaces and other types of architectural concrete. When mixing, four to five inch concrete slumps are recommended. Higher slumps should be achieved by using water reducing or plasticizing admixtures, NOT by adding water. The addition of extra water to the mix will affect the uniformity of the color. Uneven curing and/or rapid drying of the concrete will also affect the uniformity of the color. The use of Bomanite Color Cure is recommended. Every 18 to 36 months, colored concrete installations should be inspected, cleaned and resealed as required by volume and intensity of traffic. Contact your local Bomanite contractor for the proper maintenance program in your area, as the need for maintenance will vary depending on a number of factors including traffic conditions, geographical location and weather. Limitations Variations can be expected due to job site conditions, finishing techniques, use of sealers and slight raw material color drifts. Consistency of color of cement and aggregates as well as the content of the concrete mix design is critical in achieving uniform color from batch to batch. Integrally colored concrete is limited to lighter, more pastel colors and is not as brilliant as color hardened surfaces. Do not use with concrete mixes containing calcium chloride. Color matching is done using light gray cement from California based manufacture. Caution Keep out of the reach of children. See Material Safety Data Sheet for complete information.
