Matthew,
They don't have to tie into our sidewalk if they don't want to. It would be up to the City if they would need to.
The only time we would have any comments is if they want to perform some work on our right of way.
Thanks

Jason,
Their question is do they have to tie into the ramp. The sidewalk they have on their plans does not come
close to the existing ramp and the owner doesn’t want his sidewalk that close to the service road. There
also is no sidewalk anywhere on the service road of 121. Just let me know and I will make them do it.
Thanks

Jamie,
Our plans only show building the ramp, so the hotel can tie onto the ramp we built. You would just
need to contact us to get a permit to come onto our right of way to tie into the ramp or to request for a
driveway if needed. As far at the condition of the ramp, prior to the project being completed, we will
have all the ramps built on the project checked for compliance and if any are found to be out of
specification, our contractor will have to address. Do you know if someone has checked this ramp and
have already determined it’s not meeting specifications? Is the slope of it too steep or is there not a
level landing? If you have some specific concerns, we can have our contractor address this one now so
that the sidewalk can be tied to it.
Thanks
Jason

Subject: Ramp Question
Hi Jason-
One of our Construction Inspectors is working with the hotel (Fairfield Inn & Suites) on the corner of
Northpoint & the 121 Frontage- he has a question about the tie into this ramp from their sidewalk. The
current plans don’t incorporate the ramp in the photo and he is unsure if the hotel needs to connect to
this ramp or not. The hotel has stated that they think it is a non-compliant ramp and they don’t want to
touch it. I believe it is in TxDOT ROW rather than Coppell’s, so I thought you may be able to give some
direction on the requirements.
Thanks
