Subject: Coppell Trade Center - Driveway
George,
Will you please let me know what we have to do to close this project out? We have installed
all of the BMP’s specified in the approved plans. I realize we do not have a full stand of grass
yet, but the seed will germinate as the weather continues to warm and the frequency of
high stream velocities decreases. We understand there will need to be some final cleanup
and rock check dam removal when the grass takes hold.
In the meantime, I am very concerned about the chasm that is continuing to migrate
southward. It is getting very close to the headwall that we recently installed. In addition, the
sudden drop is contributing to issues caused by elevated stream velocities during heavy rain
events.
1
In my opinion, the two issues discussed above are directly related to each other. Once the
erosion issue is corrected and the waterfall is eliminated the resulting backwater should
mitigate stream velocities – thereby reducing sediment transport.
Please call me at your convenience to discuss this.
Thank you,
Dayton
