RE: Belt Line Road Project ST 93-04
Dear Ms. Seidner:
This letter is written as a follow up to our telephone conversation concerning the need for the City of
Coppell to acquire a right-of-way from DART to perform sloping and placement of drainage outfall
pipes and brickpavers within the DART right-of-way. Easements needed from dART begin slightly
west of Mockingbird and continue to the east of MacArthur Blvd. on the north side of Belt Line Road.
With this letter I am providing 1) 1) Slope easement documents # 9 SE 1, 9 SE 2, right-of-way deed
parcel #13 ROW and slope easement 13 SE, along with an overall view of all the right-of-way required
for the construction of Belt Line Road. 2) Copies of the preliminary construction plans from Sta.
79+50 to approximately Sta. 123+50 dated June 1998 with the required easements from DART
highlighted in yellow. 3) Copies of the drainage plans along the same limits as the paving plans. One
issue about the drainage plans that I would like to point out is the various drainage pipe encroachments
at approximately Sta. 92+00, 97+00, 103+50, 106+50, 112+50 and 120+00. 4) Cross-section
information for Belt Line Road from cross-section 78+50 through 119+68. On the cross-sections, I
have highlighted the area of encroachment into the DART right-of-way.
Dallas County has indicated that they will be in a position to put this project out to bid in November
1999. Therefore, any assistance that can be provided in obtaining the right to slope with the DART
right-of-way, extend drainage systems within the DART right-of-way and construct the brickpavers at
the northeast corner of Belt Line Road and MacArthur Blvd. within the DART right-of-way would be
greatly appreciated.
Once you or your staff have had the opportunity to review this information I would be more than
happy to provide any additional information. If you should have any questions at this time please feel
free to contact me. If not I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
