Subject: RE: Reinforcement approached & Top of Curb
Jose,
As is noted on the cover sheet of the approved plan set for this project and as discussed at the
preconstruction conference for this project, the City’s Standard Construction Details apply to all work on
this project. I believe that you, Koby and your paving sub were at the preconstruction conference. If
you do not have a set of these details in your job trailer please download and print them as soon as
possible.

Standard Detail 2120 for Integral Curb and Gutter clearly shows the rebar in the top of the curb, and in
Note 1, calls for it to be a No. 4 rebar unless otherwise noted. George Marshall told us that No. 3 rebar
was acceptable for this project. I will confirm with him that that is the case. A rebar will be required
continuously inside the top of the curb.
Standard Drive Approach Details 2150-2 and 2155-2 call for drive approach rebar to be No. 3 rebar on
18” centers each way. I do not know why there is any confusion on this requirement.
George and Marion have been copied with this email.
Please let me know what else we can do to assist you with this issue.
Thanks,
Robert Schneeberg, P.E., R.P.L.S.

Hello, Mr. Ball & Mr. Schneeberg
URGENT!!
RFI # 15 inform us that we proceed with the reinforcement of concrete, for the pavement, with
rebar # 3.
The City of Coppell is requiring that the approaches should be reinforced with rebar # 4. The
drawings do not show any details of reinforcement of the approaches.
Also the City requires that at the top of the curve should be put a rebar # 4. Standard
Construction Details of Coppell (Standard Detail Sheet 2120); Shows three different details that
do not refer to curb, these details show curb and gutter together.
The concrete company is refusing to put this rebar # 4 requiring the detail of the approaches
and curb details authorized by Links.
Your prompt response and solution to these issues is appreciated.
Thanks,
Jose Mondragon
