On today’s date, Terracon’s representative arrived onsite for the drilled pier observations. Pier at B/3 (276) was drilled to a depth of
approximately 38.0’ where unweathered gray shale was found. A sandy material was encountered directly above this layer that
sloughing/caving of the side walls was observed. Drilling was stopped at this time and the pier hole was backfilled. Casing will be needed
to complete this pier.
