Dear Mr. Marshall:
We have been asked by the Owner/Developer of the Fairfield Inn by Marriott to make
changes to the approved plans. As you may recall, the original construction plans were
modified to accommodate the surface drainage entering the hotel site from the Storage
facility adjoining the site.
Our office prepared the drainage revisions to address the concerns of the City, Owner,
and the Storage facility. Those plans generally installed 12" underground piping along
the north property line. Three area drains were included along with modification to the
curbing at the north entry road. The area along the east property line only required an
earthen swale to be installed that would convey the drainage to the eastmost northeast
corner. It is our understanding that these revisions were accepted by the Storage facility
and authorized to be installed by the City.
After the plans were reviewed and authorized by the City, the Owner/Developer of the
Fairfield Inn was interested in providing an additional emergency overflow along the east
property line. We recommended that an additional area drain be installed near the
parking island in the earthen swale. This drain would function as an emergency overflow
should the area drains along the north property become obstructed.
We request that the City consider allowing the installation of the second emergency
overflow in the plans attached herewith. Your consideration is greatly appreciated.
