A majority of the Coppell center mediums have been repaired.We have two outstanding items regarding hairline mainline breaks that could not have been
caused by the contractors.Pictures are attached.Here are some notes about the mainline breaks and the work completed in general.
1.The mainline break by Deforest has been dug up and flagged.It's a very small leak that we almost didn't notice.It appears to have been caused by a material
that was used in prior construction to jack up the roadways.The mainline break could have been there for a while and may be part of the reason the road
needed to be worked on in the first place.This has not been repaired.
2.The second mainline break is at Village and MacArthur.It is not a seeping valve.We know this because:A.We replaced the valve and B.There was a
manual ball valve we closed next to the valve and after 3 days there was still seeping water.No work was construction was completed around this area.It has
not been repaired yet.
3.General work completed included:
A.)Replaced 72 new rotors that were either 1.stuck 2.broken 3.no longer adjustable and shooting too much on the street requiring replacement 4.broken
fittings below.
B.)The Deforest and MacArthur location had the same materials in the lateral lines which were mentioned in item 1 above.Several of the lines were repaired,
we replaced the valve and every single rotor was replaced.
C.)Found and reconnected a missing common wire.
D.)3qty 2"Brass Weathermatic Valves required replacing the solenoids and diaphragms.(1 with certainty was not the contractors fault)
E.)3qty 1 1/2"Rainbird Vales were replaced.
F.)lqty 2"Irritrol Plastic Valve was replaced
F.)lqty 2"Weathermatic Plastic Valve was replaced(Village and MacArthur)
G.)A note about the valves-In general,the valves we had to replace had been messed with by the contractor.They are so old and sensitive that once they
turned them on manually some would not shut back off.This is when they either throttled them down w/flow control or turned them off via the ball valve if
the valve had one.
H.)We repaired approximately 20 lateral line breaks.
I.)The parkways controlled by the HOAs have been looked at and most big items repaired.I've told Green Meadows to flag anything else they deem repairable
by the contractor.
This is a long stretch of road with a lot of cars popping up on curbs and taking their toll on the system.It's obviously something that requires constant
maintenance.If other issues are observed please do not hesitate to contact us.It should be noted that about a 1/3 of the work we completed did not appear to be
caused by the contractor.
