Based on our conversations, I understand that the primary concern for the City to be with the pavement valuation. In the bid documents provided by the owner, the concrete for both site work and building were included as a single item. This led to some confusion relating to the total cost of paving for the purpose of determining the inspection fee. We have discussed the quantities and cost data with the general contractor and concrete sub-contractor. The Subcontractor has provided generalized unit cost date that is reasonable and consistent for the project. Additionally, the submitted cost data did not include values for earthwork. We have adjusted the table to include this cost in the Other category. Based on the information provided, we believe that the cost breakdown attached is appropriate for this project.
