RFI No.: 003
Contractor:Ark Contracting Services, LLC Project:Grapevine Creek Bank Stabilization
Owner:City of Coppell Refer to Drawing/Spec:
Engineer:Teague Nall & Perkins Attachments:1
Problem Identification or Question:
If we install the rip rap as shown on the plans (see attached) thenew finish grade will not be protected and any dirt
located on top of the rip rap will be washed away. Can we move the rip rap over to protect finish grade and in lieu of
putting dirt on top of the rip rap we reverse it and put the rip rap on the dirt so it doesn’t wash away?
Initiator of Request:Tiffany Rawls, ARK,PM Date:2.8.18
Suggested Resolution:
Move limits of Rip Rap section and install by putting the rip rap on top of the dirt in order to protect the new finish grade
Suggested Resolution By:Tiffany Rawls, ARK, PM Date: 2.8.18
Resolution
TNP recommends the bottom of rip rap remain embedded into channel 6 in. above bottom of lowest basket to prevent
undermining due to scour but additional grouted rock rip rap can be added and built up to grades as indicated and
recommended by contractor.
