We need the meter lid to be raised out of the hole it is in. We are not asking for the meter itself to be changed. Please
add any necessary additions to the can so it still provides access to the meter in the 8” low position.
Thanks, George

Marcus and George,
Please see the email string below and the attached pdf.
Links is telling us that the City is requiring the water meter which is highlighted to be adjusted so that it is 4 to 8” below
the top of the meter can. That is an existing meter assembly which we reused for the new irrigation lines. The utility sub
says that the way the inspector has requested the meter be installed will involve cutting the street and relaying the line
from the main in the street.
Why is this work necessary on an existing meter assembly? Links did not install it, it was already there in its current
configuration.

Robert,
We have a problem with the city engineering on their inspection that is holding up our C of O. City review comment
reads as such…. “The water meter needs to be between 4”-8” from the top of the lid”.
Koby’s e-mail chain is below. Can you please give Koby a call, get all of the facts about what is isn’t there, and then give
City a call? Urgent.
Thank you.

The meter on the east side needs all the attention. We can put a new meter can on it and get that to grade but then the
meter will be too deep. The inspector wants it raised as well. Depending on how they allow us to do this will depend on
what the cost are. That meter is about 2’ back of curb so we’re limited on our adjustments and the city and the
inspector in particular is picky on these things. We’ve cleaned those inlets out a dozen different times and yesterday
they had a few leaves in them, he wants them cleaned again.

Which city comment is this in regards to? Raising the water can on the east side of the site, or the water meter needing
to be 4”-8” from the top of the lid? Please clarify.

Jeff,
See email below and please advise ASAP! This is hinged upon getting the CofO. The City of Coppell is ridiculous

That’s and existing irrigation meter that wasn’t part of our SOW. From what Adolfo is telling me, the way the inspector
wants it fixed will require us to go back to the main, which is in the street, and raise it from that point to make the
necessary adjustment. This will be very expensive for an existing irrigation meter. I would get the engineer involved and
have them get with the city to see if this is something that can be left alone.
