City of Coppell P.O. Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019 Re: Gibbs Station, Phase II Coppell M.U.D. No. 1 Coppell, Texas Dear Mr. Griffin: We have reviewed the videotape of the 27" Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Line furnished by the City of Coppell, as requested in your letter to Mr. Paul Phy dated August 23, 1993. The District had already camera inspected the entire 27" Interceptor in October of 1992, and the District is currently in the process of taking bids to repair all deficiencies noted during that inspection, including portions of the line in the proposed Gibbs Station Phase II Subdivision area. Based on the City's concerns that the portion of the line in Gibbs Station Phase II should be replaced, we had an independant expert, Mr. Bill Fredrick of ADS Environmental Services, view the City of Coppell tape with us. ADS specializes in testing and evaluating the condition of existing utility systems, and Mr. Fredrick has over 18 years of experience in the rehabilitation of sanitary sewer lines. ADS estimates the remaining service life of the 27" Sewer Interceptor Line to be a mimumum of 15 years, and we concur with their conclusion. Consequently, we have found no evidence to require or justify replacement or repair to the 27" sewer line at this time, other than the repairs previously noted. We have, however, recommended that the D~~ ~n~,,~ to monitor existing ~!ow in the ~ .... ~ to periodically recamera the existing pipe as needed. If you need any further information, please contact our office or feel free to attend future District Board meetings held at the City Hall. Sincerely, Jeffrey M. Hawkins, P.E.
