Dear Mr. Wyse:
This letter is in response to your letter dated June 22, 1993
regarding development of the second Dbase of Gibbs Station, located
within the Coppell Municipal Utility District No. i (District). The
District has an existing 27" sanitary sewer interceptor line along the
South border of the proposed subdivision, between MacArthuf Boulevard
and Village Parkway. The 27" line was video taped in October of 1992,
and found to be in good overall condition, considering the line has
been in service over 15 years.
The portion of line within Gibbs Station did, however, have two minor
leaks, located at Station 102+05 and 102+76. A copy of the map we
included with our evaluation of the sewer line is enclosed for your
reference. At these locations, we recommended to the Board of
Directors that the pipe be exposed and repaired from the outside, or
pressure grouted from the inside. We are currently in the process of
preparing plans and specifications to make pipe repairs and/or
replacements in some areas of the existing line, but the Board has not
awarded or authorized any work on the line at this time.
We agree with you that it would be beneficial to coordinate and
complete any repair or replacement work prior to the construction of
new utility lines and homes in the vicinity of the line. It should be
noted that the District must approve the placement of any structures,
utilities, paving, ience improvements, etc., within the CoDpell M.U.D.
No. 1 sanitary sewer easement prior to con~tructlon.
