RE: Gibbs Station Phase Two
Construction Plans
Dear Mr. Anderson:
The City of Coppell has received and reviewed the referenced plans and has the following
comments to offer:
1. Make the spelling corrections to the plan approval paragraph.
2. On Plate 4, provide a note stating all fill areas exceeding 12" shall be compacted
to 45% standard proctor density. Also, label the compacted fill area for the
profile of Creek Crossing (refer to Plate No. 4).
3. Provide the dimensions for all alleys as indicated on the plans.
4. In regards to the detail for the flume, add a note stating that the flume should be
constructed of six sack concrete.
5. On the storm sewer plans, label the lots and blocks where applicable.
6. Referring to the Storm Sewer Plans for Line "E" and Line "F" on Plate 14,
concrete encased the 8" sanitary sewer crossing underneath the 24" RCP's.
7. Provide a detail on the Water and Sewer Plans showing a four foot minimum
separation of the tapping sleeves at the location indicated on the plans (refer to
Plate No. 15).
8. Show the 8" water line crossing the sanitary sewer Line"A" and Line "C" and
concrete encase if within the 24" minimum clearance (refer to Plate No. 17).
9. Some alley invert elevations are noted at the wrong elevations on the Grading
Plans. Please verify and correct (refer to Plates No. 18, 19 & 20).
10. On the Erosion Control Plans, provide a note stating "Embed hay bales 4" to 6"
in ground. Also, show the location of the filter fabric by using a distinguishing
line.
There are various other minor comments throughout these plans. Once these comments have
been addressed, the revised set of plans should be resubmitted to the City for review. If you
should have any questions concerning these comments, please feel free to contact me at your
convenience.
Sincerely,
Michael A. Martin, E.I.T.
