As discussed previously, please find attached a draft letter addressing maintenance of the
· channel/zed portion of Grapevine Creek. This letter is addressed to Michael Baker Jr., Inc., the
new FEMA review consultant for our area. I have verbally addressed all of their Febmm'y 3rd
comments and am in the process of preparing the f'mal submittal which should complete tkis
Request for a Flood Insurance Rate Map Revision. Your letter and copies of the ordinances
referenced are needed to complete this package.
The preliminary maps for the ongoing update of the Coppell Flood Insurance Study have
been published and the first public notification was in the March 6, 1992 Citizens' Ad¥'ocate.
The second public notification will probably be in this week's paper. There will then be a 90
day appeal/comment period prior to publication of the final maps. I have spoke to Dewberry.-
Davis about showing this project on the final maps and they feel that there is still tirne if all
submittals are completed this month. The advantage to the City of Coppell is that the revised
Flood Insurance Study maps will be more correct as far as 'as built' projects are concerned.
Please return your letter with copies of the applicable ordinances for inclusion in this final
submittal. I appreciate your time and help in setting this issue.
