Description: Plastiment is a non-toxic, ready to use liquid admixture for concrete. It contains a metallic salt of hydroxylated carboxlic acid as the active ingredient. It is a non-air-entraining, water- reducing, set-retarding densifier for concrete. Plastiment contains no chlorides. It meets the requirements of ASTM C-494, Type B; Corps of Engineers CRD C-87, Type D; and AASHTO M-194, Type D. Where to Use: · Use where increased compressive strengths are needed. · Use Plastiment in all types of concretes...slipform paving, precast/prestressed, dams, tunnels, bridges, etc. · Use with concrete 'pumps and lightweight mixes. Advantages: · Retards set. · Increases concrete density. · Provides higher strengths. · Reduces drying shrinkage. · Aids finishing. · Contains no chlorides. · Controls bleeding. Shelf Life: Unlimited. Protect from freezing. Storage Conditions: Store above 3OF. Protect from freezing. If frozen, thaw and agitate before use. Packaging: 5-gal pails, 55-gal drums, and bulk. Typical Data for Plastimenl: Color: Yellow-green. pH: > 9.0 Specific Gravity: 1.18 Description: Plastocrete 161 is a polymer-type admixture, it is a non-air-entraining, water-reducing, strength-producing liquid and conforms to ASTM C-494 Type A (water-reducing admixture). Contains no calcium chloride. Admixture is supplied ready for use with all ready-mix and mass concrete where increased strengths and other advantages are desired. Advantages: · Normal-set admix -- Plastocrete 161 is absolutely normal-setting... in the full sense of ASTM C-494. Normal dosage provides concrete with setting-time requirements of a normal-setting admixture. ~. · Rapid strength gain -- It produces substantially higher strengths at early stages. · Cement savings -- Up to 20% strength increase with equal cement content; or saves ~ to 1 sack of cement/cu yd for equal strength. · Water reduction -- Plastocrete 161 conforms to ASTM C-494 Type A water-reducing chemical admixture. Increases workability -- Facilitates placement; Iow-slump concrete moves and consolidates easier, finishes better. · Free of calcium chloride -- Chloride-free, may be used with all types of cement in all concrete. · Ready-to-use liquid -- No pre-mixing with water; may be added to mix manually or With automated dispensing equipment. Properties: Plastocrete 161 is a non-toxic, non-flammable, dark'-brown liquid. It does not entrain air. Where air-entraining is required, add Sika AER, air-entraining agent, to the mix separately. Do not premix Sika AER with Plastocrete. *Supersedes 041 Description: Where to use: Sikamix 104, Sika AER, is a dark-brown liquid air-entraining agent. It is a concentrated solution of neutralized Vinsol resin. Meets the following specifications: ASTM-C-260 Corps of Engineers CRD-C-13 Bureau of Public Roads Bureau of Reclamation. Use Sika AER as an admixture to increase conrete's frost resistance Advantages: -- pavements -- slabs -- exposed architectural concrete. It also helps increase workability of lean mixes and lightweight mixes. · Sika AER increases resistance of concrete to frost damage and scaling. · It increases workability of harsh mixes. · It improves surface appearance of architectural concrete. When greatest possible structural quality is required, use ..aPproved normal-setting water-reducing admixtures, accelerating . water-reducing admixtures, and retarding water-reducing admixtures. Packaging: Bulk, tank cars or trucks, 55-gallon drums. Shelf life: Sika AER freezes at 30F. If frozen, discard. How to use: Proportions: Use ~,~ to 11/2 fl oz/sack of cement to entrain 4% to 6% air. You may obtain higher air content by increasing proportions of AER. Air content of mix should be checked With air meter and proportion of Sika AER should be adjusted as needed. Trial mix proportions for Sika AER: · mixes with approved admixtures Plastiment or Plastocrete -- 1/2 fl oz/sack of cement · plain mix -- ~ fl oz/sack · lightweight mix -- 1~/~ fl oz/sack For graphs from the Bureau of Reclamation, see next page. Measure required quantity per batch manually or with automatic dispenser. Add Sika AER to mixing water or sand, not to cement. Reduce water content, as well as proportion of sand, by the volume of entrained air to take full advantage of Sika AER and minimize stength decrease in medium-rich mixes. Factors affecting air content include: Type and brand of cement; type, gradation, and proportion of sand and aggregate; time and manner of mixing; consistency and temperature of the concrete. Limitations: Do not premix Sika AER with other liquid admixtures. Add Sika AER to mix water, add other admixtures to the sand. Be sure each liquid admixture is added separately from separate dispensers. l~'$upersedes AER 032
