Dear Mr. Harper:
Enclosed please find a copy of our Concrete Mix Inspection Report #6 showing the compressive strength
at 28~days of 2.$50 p.s.i. There has been some question as to this test results compliance with :he job
specifications.
Please note Section 03300.3.15.B.$ of the project specifications. [t states that the "strength level of
concrete will be considered satisfactory if averages of sets of three consecutive strength test results equal
or exceed specified compressive strength ..." The average oi three concerning this test is at 3.498 p.s.i.
and 3.800 p.s.i. The third average cannot be calculated until the 28-day tests for GEE Consultant's
concrete report #8 are performed on February *.?,3, 1999. However. based on the 7-day results, we would
prOject a 28-day result around 3.300 p.s.i. Using this projection, the third average of three results is a
projected 3.386 p.s.i. These three averages of consecutive strength test results equal or exceed the 3.000
p.s.i, sepcification requirements.
The specifications also states that" .no individual strength test result tails below specified compressive
strength by more than 500 p.s.i." The 28-day strength of this test is 2.550 p.s.i, meeting the project
specifications.
Also note that we have held one cylinder back to test at 56-days iMarch 12. 1999) for reference and
informational purposes only.
