RE: Coppert Road Project #ST98-01 (Sandy Lake Road to SH121)
Dear Coppell Citizen:
In the past several months, significant progress has been made toward completion of the box
culvert/drainage channel and paving of the east-west portion from SH 121 to The Mansions entrance (see
attached exhibit). This section of paving will be completed in the next two weeks, ending phase one of the
project. Once completed, this section of roadway will be opened up to two-way local traffic.
The remaining phases of construction have been discussed in recent weeks. Phase two of the project will
commence in the next three weeks and will include paving Coppell Road from Parkway Blvd. to Sandy
Lake Road. This phase of construction will last through the summer and will be completed before school
starts in August. The City has agreed to dose this section of Coppell Road during phase two to
expedite construction. Signage in and around the project will be used to notify motorists of the specific
limits of the closure and when this phase will commence.
Phase three of pavement construction will include the remaining section stretching from Parkway to The
Mansions entrance. This work will be completed while maintaining one-way traffic in the
northbound direction. Also, this work may be performed concurrent with phase two to further expedite
the project.
To summarize:
· Phase one includes the east-west portion of Coppell Road from SH 121 to The Mansions entrance.
This phase should be completed in the next two weeks.
· Phase two includes paving Coppell Road from Parkway to Sandy Lake Road. This phase will be
finished before school starts in August and will include closure to all traffic.
· Phase three includes Coppell Road from Parkway to The Mansions main entrance. This phase will be
performed while maintaining one-way northbound traffic. Timing of this phase has not been
determined, but this work may be performed concurrent with phase two to expedite completion of the
project.
The City regrets the inconvenience that this project has caused to date and appreciates your patience. The
roadway closures detailed in this letter are intended to minimize the duration of the project.
If you have any questions regarding this project or any information provided in this letter, please contact
