Concrete paving activities are scheduled to begin in the early we
will involve removing the existing asphalt pavement, preparing 1
38'-wide concrete pavement with curbs and gutters. As mentioneu auvv=, :n~ remaining nra~nage
pipe will be installed while this work is being done.
In an effort to facilitate the quick completion of the project, and minimize the duration of the
impacts to traffic, the City is working with its conlxactor to devise appropriate constraction
phasing plans. Phase One will include paving and drainage improvements to the east-west
portion of Coppell Road from SH121 to the main entrance of The Mansions Apartments.
Coppell Road will be closed to all traffic for this phase of the project, again starting some
time in January of 2000. The estimated time of the phase one construction is eight weeks.
Advanced signing will be used to warn motorists of the closure and direct traffic to other routes;
particularly Canyon Drive, Coppell Road and SH121 Frontage Road. Please plan on using these
alternate routes for the duration of Phase One.
Details on the later phases of construction are still being finalized, but the City will work to
maintain traffic flow as much as possible. Any long-term lane closures will require approval
from Staff and City Council.

R_E: Coppell Road Project #ST98-01 (Sandy Lake Road to SH121)
Dear Coppell Citizen:
The Coppell Road reconstruction project is well underway. Work activities to date have included
installation of over 3000 feet of 12" water line, tree removal and fence relocation on the west
side of Coppell Road. A small portion of the storm drain work has been completed, with the
majority scheduled to coincide with concrete paving construction.
Concrete paving activities are scheduled to begin in the early weeks of January, 2000. This work
will involve removing the existing asphalt pavement, preparing the subgrade, and constructing a
38'-wide concrete pavement with curbs and gutters. As mentioned above, the remaining drainage
pipe will be installed while this work is being done.
In an effort to facilitate the quick completion of the project, and minimize the duration of the
impacts to traffic, the City is working with its contractor to devise appropriate constraction
phasing plans. Phase One will include paving and drainage improvements to the east-west
portion of Coppell Road from SH121 to the main entrance of The Mansions Apartments.
Coppell Road will be closed to all traffic for this phase of the project, again starting some
