Lakes of C 1stP-CS 950327 March 27, 1995 Cary Fitzgerald Lakes of Coppell 4835 LBJ Freeway, Suite 600 LB 50 Dallas, Texas 75244 RE: Bridge Lighting Lakes of Coppell Dear Mr. Fitzgerald: This letter is written as a follow-up to our telephone conversation in which you inquired about the City's ability to provide electricity to three bridges in the Lakes of Coppell and provide electricity and fixtures for a fourth bridge. I stated that it was the City's intent to provide electricity to the bridges, however, we were trying to get additional funding for the fixtures on the fourth bridge. I then contacted my Street Superintendent, Rey Gonzales, concerning the status of the project. A copy of his memo is attached. In reading Mr. Gonzales' memo, it's apparent that I was somewhat mistaken in some of the information provided to you. The City is currently having TU Electric provide electricity to all four bridges, however, the number I quoted for the fixtures for the fourth bridge is actually a number to install electricity from TU's pullbox to the four bridges. It will take an additional $2000.00 to buy the fixtures for the fourth bridge. The memo also stated that this is an item that we are looking at for mid-year budget. Having reviewed Rey's budget, we are currently looking for available funds to complete this project. During our conversation, you indicated that the purchase of the fixtures may be something that the Lakes of Coppell would be willing to participate in with the City. If so, the City would like to pursue that option with the Lakes of Coppell to lower the overall cost of the project. By lowering the cost of the project, it may make it a project which the City can fund during the mid-year budget. If you have any questions or would like to pursue the option of the Lakes of Coppell's participation please contact me at 304-3679. Ke~ln'eth M. q~riffin, P.E. The Village Parkway site currently doesn't have any fixtures. Stuart Electric has provided an estimate of $6,500.00, including any necessary bores to provide power to the existing lights. They didn't quote any fixtures for Village Parkway. Dean Electric has agreed to provide an estimate for this project as well. It will be approximately two weeks before we receive this quote. Staff will attempt to get a third quote for this project. We will also secure cost for the fixtures and forward that info to you A.S.A.P. It is our opinion that this will bring the project cost to approximately $8,000.00 to 8,500.00. T.U. Electric has agreed to run the necessary power to a location near the bridge columns and place handholds there for the electricians use. They will provide the meters, as well. In addition, Henkles and McCoy have agreed to provide a bore under Allen Rd. at no charge. This bore is needed for T.U. Electric to run their power to the bridge on MacArthur and Allen. We will need to provide the electrical permit at no charge for this project. Staff has requested the funding for this project to come from the mid-year budget. We have asked Jennifer Armstrong to look at the Electrical Account and see if we may be able to fund this project with surplus from that account. Either way, we will need funding from somewhere to get it done. I will keep you posted on the status of this project on an as needed basis.
