Re: License Agreement Nos. 970901 and 970903 covering Fairway Drive and the
Thompson/Lattimore Materials highway-rail crossings in Coppell
Dear Mr. Griffin:
Pursuant to our phone conversation, the granting of permission for the Fairway Drive at-grade highway-rail
crossing of the former St. Louis Southwestern Railway fight of way included certain conditions in the
License Agreement. A copy of each of the referenced agreements is enclosed. I call to your attention,
Section 2.0306 of Agreement No. 970901 which provides for improvement to the approaches,
reconstruction of the crossing (if necessary), and installation of full at-grade warning devices to the
"Thompson Crossing" (DOT No. 789 753M) by the end of FY99.
Enclosed is DART's Standard Construction Agreement and Contractor's Right of Entry to be forwarded to
the City's contractor(s) for any roadway work performed within DART right of way. Please see that the
contractor completes, signs and returns the documents with evidence of insurance to satisfy the
requirements contained within. No work on DART fight of way is authorized until this agreement is
properly executed and the insurance approved by DART.
Railroad Controls Limited, the signal contractor for Fort Worth and Western Railroad, will work with the
City to coordinate the signal requirements and install the equipment at the highway-rail intersection subject
to reimbursement by the City. Please contact Richard Campbell, President of RCL at (817) 820-6300, 500
South Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76104-3504.
If I can be of assistance to any of the parties involved with this project, please contact me at (214)
749-2917.
Sincerely,
er
