Cerement: Kent, I have attached a copy of the 2-page fax I sent you last
Friday for your reference on relocating the sanitary sewer connection. I believe we are leaning toward
OPTION ~r2 but I have some questions concerning this connection. The contractor would prefer to tap the
main sewer line without building a new manhole. Is this acceptable to the City? If this is not possible and
a new manhole needs to be construct~, we propose the curb be recessed, similar to a curb inlet, to
accommodate the new manhole cover. (Please see the attached sketch) This will be necessary since
the existing curb appears to be directly over the existing sewer line. Please also keep in mind this option
would cause a minimal disturbance in traf~ flow compared to OPTION #1 because cor~truction would
only affect the left turn lane. Please review these items and give me your comments so we can revise the
plans and re-submit them during the City's current review of this project as you suggested. Thank You.
