Upon investigation, staff determined that no Building Permit had been obtained for the fence and that the fence was still under construction. Also, complaints have been received from adjacent property owners because the fence blocks both access and the view to the park. Because of the circumstances surrounding this request, staff recommends denial of this request and recommends that the fence be removed and replaced on the property line. All fences located within the City of Coppell are required to be permitted prior to any work being done. However, in this instance, a permit cannot be approved since you have constructed the fence off your property. In order to bring your property into compliance, the fence must be completely removed and permitted by no later than August 12, 1997. Your cooperation in resolving this matter is important since failure to remove the violation by August 12, 1997, can result in citations being issued for each day the violation continues. Texas State law presently provides for penalties of up to $2,000.00 per day. If you have any questions, please contact me at (972) 304-3500.
