Subject: Coppell Construction
I've been a Coppell resident now since August 2000,
and have been both excited and discouraged by the
large number of simultaneous construction projects
concurrently being employed. I understand that the
Sandy Lake project has been going on for a long time
prior to August, and I have barely noticed much change
from a month-to-month basis.
I travel this route eve~ day and yes, it is an
inconvenience to have construction continuing on your
main route eve~ day. It is an inconvenience that one
can live with if one sees there is a light at the end
of the tunnel. What is disturbing about this, and the
Belt Line project is that days, and weeks can go by at
a time without the appearance of a single worker at
either site. Why do you tenure us with completing
these projects? Get people working on them eve~ day,
especially when we have nice weather, and we can get
this pa~ of our life over with, and we can get on
with being happy residents.
Coppell should never have begun tackling Belt Line
until you finished Sandy Lake. Things have go~en to
the point where I and several residents have come to
the conclusion that perhaps Coppell doesn't really
have a Streets Dept. Definitely no crews. We suspect
that Coppell RENTS crews from neighboring cities,
maybe Carrollton, and can only get them when they
aren't busy doing work for the other cities. What
other views can we have? You don't really seem
serious about completing these projects. It is ve~
discouraging to see weeks and months progress with no
visible changes to the lands~pe.
I would like to remind you that the sign you have at
the entrance to Sandy Lake at the Denton Tap
intersection proudly proclaims the Sandy Lake project
to be finished by Spring 2001. You have less than a
month. I don't personally believe you can do it. You
don't even keep your web site up to date with current
construction progress, because there is nothing to
repo~ on. There is no progress. I will take great
pleasure in taking pa~ of the next Coppell political
elections to make sure that this never happens again,
and that you are all held accountable for your
actions.
