This letter is written as a follow-up to our conversation on August 17, 1994, in which you
requested information on what the fee would be if the City were to inspect the public
improvements associated with the referenced project in accordance with standard City policies.
Our typical inspection fee for public improvements is 2% of the project cost. I have reviewed
the contract that was awarded on this project and Part III of the base bid covers all of the items
that would be associated with the paving. The total dollar amount of Part III is $66,307.00.
Therefore, inspection fee for the City to inspect those items would be $1,326.14.
To get this project inspected by the City, you should instruct your Engineer to supply the City
three copies of Sheets P-1 and P-2 along with a cover sheet and the necessa~ fees, so that I can
assign an inspector to the project.
