Dear Mr. Weiland,
On behalf of Catellus Development, I have prepared landscape plans
for the beautification of the Gateway Business Park in Coppell, Texas.
Prior to drawing, I met with Mr. Richard Diano to review the city's
landscape requirements and restrictions. I left the meeting with the
understanding that the building of berms within various easements was
acceptable as long as the developer assumed responsibility for land-
scape repairs, and that trees would not be allowed under the power
lines running on the west side of Freeport Boulevard.
Last spring the landscape Plan was accepted by the Planning and
Zoning Commission and the City Council, pending final approval of the
Parks Department. These plans were submitted to Mr. Diano and he
prepared the final written-revisions. The revisions required modifica-
tion of the berms so that they did not begin in the ROW (within 10' of
the back of the curb) and that the entry island aC Freeport and Gateway
have its own water meter. As CaCellus is willing to pay for the water,
Catellus has asked me Co request the service to the island not have its
own meter. Secondly, Catellus feels it should be allowed to landscape
in a manner similar to Chat of the PrinCess Development located to the
east of the Gateway Project, where berms appear to begin within the
right of way.
I am again submitting the drawings with the additional information you
requested concerning labelling of street names, etc. I am seeking final
acceptance of these drawings.
