Re: Additional Ground Storage Tank
Dear Mr. Ginn:
This letter is written in response to a letter you wrote concerning the City of CoppeWs need for
a second ground storage tank by the summer of 1994. The City appreciates your concern for the
community and the needs of the citizen's in the community. However, it is the City's opinion
that the current water system is adequate. Our Master Plan shows that the second ground storage
tank will be needed for 1995. However, that project is evaluated yearly, along with other Capital
Improvement Projects, and prioritized against other projects and needs of the community. The
available funding is then evaluated against the projects and a priority list of projects is generated
for design and construction. The Public Works department is very sensitive to the water needs
because of the booming nature of the City of Coppell, therefore, the need for the second ground
storage tank is monitored very closely.
If a sudden change in the water needs for the community developes ,i.e. weather conditions,
continued excessive growth, and/or other factors beyond our control, then it is conceivable that
the timetable for this project could be accelerated. This would mean that the design and
construction could take place prior to 1995.
