RE: Acceptance of Two Sections of Future Pavement located
in SDHPT Right-of-Way
Staff and I have met with SDHPT representatives to discuss plans
for Gateway Business Park which involves some roadway realignment
within SDHPT right-of-way. The SDHPT made primarily three
comments, two of which deal directly with the plans. Those two
are that 8 inch pavement be used on those portions within SDHPT
right-of-way and that the portion of existing Cotton Road, to be
abandoned, be removed completely from the site. Both of these
comments have been addressed in the plans.
The third comment, which is a condition of accepting this change
in alignment, is that the City would accept maintenance of those
future sections within SDHPT right-of-way. Attached you will
find copies taken from the construction plans which illustrate
those sections. Staff has estimated that routine maintenance of
these sections will not exceed $1,000 annually.
Also attached is a letter which has been prepared for your
signature to the SDHPT, if this is acceptable to you.
Should you have any questions, please advise.

Re: Gateway Boulevard and Cotton Road,
Intersection at IH635 Coppell, Texas
Dear Mr. Huffman:
Please find enclosed two sets of the above referenced design drawings for your
review and approval. Halff Associates has made the revisions requested in our
meeting with Mr. John Blain and Mr. Leroy Wallen on Thursday, June 7, 1990.
The City of Coppell agrees with these plan changes and approves the paving
relocation as shown on Sheets P-1 and P-4, dated February 1990, revised June
8, 1990.
The City of Coppell will accept the maintenance of Cotton Road paving within
the SDHPT right-of-way west of Station 4+24.88 as shown on Sheet P-4 and
Gateway Boulevard paving within the SDHPT right-of-way east of Station
10+71.02 as shown on Sheet P-1. The traffic control for this section of the
project will consist of closing Cotton Road to through traffic from Freeport
Parkway to Royal Lane during construction.
Thank you for your time and consideration on this project. If you have any
questions or require any further information, please contact me.
Very truly yours,
COPPE L ..... j/
