Dear Mr. Griffin:
The plans and specifications state that the 16" water line would be shut down for the water line
adjustments and subsequent connections. Due to water usage, our utility subcontractor has been required
to wet tap rather than dry tap the water line. The higher costs associated with these wet connections were
not included in the bid items because of the note stating that the water line would be inactive. Please
incorporate items for the following additional costs into the next change order:
1. 16" x 12" Connection $1,350.00
2. 16" x 8" Connection $700.00
3. 16" x 6" Connection $525.00
4. 16" x 4" Connection $775.00
5. t6" x 1" Connection $360.00
6. 16" x 2" Connection $370.00
During the development of these prices we have assumed that the City of Coppell will pay for the
original bid items associated with this work and only pay for these additional items if our utility
subcontractor is required to make an unplanned wet tap. Item #2., the 16" x 8" connection, is the only
item listed abovc that is currently design, ated for utilization. The remaining items have been included for
potential contingencies.
If you have any questions regarding these prices, don't hesitate to contact our office.
