Dear Mr. Klingbeil:
The City of Coppell has reviewed thc revised plans for the referenced addition and has the
following comments to offer:
1. In the future, please resubmit thc original marked up sets of plans. The comments arc
color-coded for our use.
2. As previously stated, construction details that are included in the City of Coppcll Standard
Details should not bc included with your set of plans. This includes thc longitudinal joint,
thc saw joint, the expansion construction joint, and thc sidewalk detail. While you may
have some differences on your plans from the City detail, we will enforce the City detail on
thc project. Some obvious differences between your detail and City standards are that we
require silicone sealer for all joints, and we do not allow wire mesh within the City. If you
wish to space your reinforcing at 18" on center, you should just include a note on your
Paving Sheet that all reinforcing shall be at 18" on center. Also, on your details for the
sidewalk ramp, please be advised that they should meet ADA and Texas Accessibility
Standards. This will require some type of color contrasting between the ramp and the
sidewalk.
Once these changes have been made, please submit three revised copies for the City's use and as
many copies as necessary for your contractors. All contractors and subcontractors onsite must
have a copy of the plans approved by the City of Coppcll.
Prior to releasing this project for construction, the inspection fccs should be paid. The City
assesses a 2% inspection fcc for all private construction onsitc outside thc building's footprint.
This would include dirt work, erosion control, paving, storm drain, water lines, sewer lines,
drainage pipes, etc. that are private. For all public installations, the City of Coppell charges a 4%
fee. On your project that would include the 8" sanitary sewer line, the deceleration lane, the
drive approach and sidewalk.

Copies of the contract should be provided to verify the calculations for the inspection fees. !f
