RE: Trando's Memo 2/22/88 - Maintenance Bond
Thank you for advising staff regarding the mainten'ance bond
you received concerning the sanitary sewer line which was
installed to facilitate the McDonald's Restaurant.
Idealy, once the acceptance of such utility and/or paving
located in the City right-of-way or easement is in place,
the original maintenance bond is submitted by the developer
to the department responsible for~ inspecting and compiling
all pertinent documentation on the project. This department
should also submit the acceptance letter to the developer.
Copies of both the acceptance letter and maintenance bond
are submitted to the departments that are responsibl'e for
the maintenance and operations of the improvements once
the maintenance bond expires. Additionally, a copy is kept
in the project file at Public Works Inspections. The original
is forwarded to the City Secretary's office. If you would
make a copy of these bonds when/if you receive them and
forward to Public Works, I would greatly appreciate it.
I hope the above is of some assistance tO you. I don't
believe this procedure has worked very well in the past,
but hopefully it will in the future.
If you have any questions, please advise.
