Dear Mr. Martin:
As you are aware, an existing water service was discovered on the south end of the project in the
asphalt transition area on August 9, 2000. It is our understanding that EBCC was directed, on
August 11, 2000, by the City of Coppell to delay installation of the asphalt transition until the
water service has been installed. As a result, we have put our asphalt subcontractor on hold until
the extra Work Can be completed; therefore, the scheduled op.ening of the section of Coppell
Road from Sandy Lake to Parlo0vay Will not occu/as planned.
Additionally, this delay has prevented the mobilization of our asphalt subcontractor for the final
detour section over the box structure. This delay has prevented the completion of the excavation
for the final phase of the project. This asphalt and excavation work are on the project's critical
path. Please suspend time charges beginning on August 9, 2000 until the extra work and asphalt
work can be completed.

Dear Mr. Martin:
An existing water service was discovered on the south end of the project in the asphalt transition
area. It is our understanding that the City of Coppell has decided that the service must be
connected to the new water line. This service was not noted on the plans and now will require a
wet tap and remobilization of our utility subcontractor. Our price to install this long side 1" dead
head water service into the existing meter and meter box is $1,400.00. This work will require an
additional two calendar days to complete.
