CITY OF COPPELL

Dear Jim:
Last month, Dallas County's CDBG program once again met HUD's annual
spending requirement. That the program was able to meet this requirement for
the recently completed August 1, 2000-July 31, 2001 time period is due in large
part to the City of Coppell and its ability to complete the Senior Citizens Center
expansion project.
Without the City's assistance over the last twelve months, it would have been
very difficult for the County to have met HUD's requirement. Had we not been
able to do so, then the CDBG program could have suffered a reduction in funding
from HUD.
For the August 1, 2001-July 31, 2002 time period that just began, the County will""~
have to spend $2,034,260. Once again, your City's ability to implement and
administer its CDBG project--in particular, the new $75,282 fire hydrant/water
project for the Golden Triangle Mobile Home Park area-will be critical to whether
the County's CDBG program is successful in meeting this new requirement.
Your assistance and efforts over the past year have been greatly appreciated.
Please let us know what we can do to assist you with your CDBG project during
this new twelve-month period. Also, please let us know as soon as possible if
your City's priorities change or if you encounter any difficulties or delays so that
we might be able to offset any reduction in expenditures by expediting other
projects elsewhere.
Thank you again for your help.
Sincerely,
Rick Loessberg
