Dear Sirs:
We moved to Coppell in May of 1996 and have been very satisfied with everything
concerning the city and services provided
One matter has concerned us recently, and we feel compelled to bring it to your attention.
On Thursday', February 19, we were awakened at 5:15 A.M. by a very bright spotlight shining
into our bedroom (with the blinds closed) and very noisy truck engines with the addition of the
beeping that goes with them. I, Anna, phoned the city that afternoon and was referred to the
engineering department. This department listened to my complaint and evidently contacted Mr.
Tony' Martin of Newport Classic Homes - Apartment Division- who is in charge of the
construction of the Mansions on the Creek at 600 Coppell Road. Mr. Martin phoned me within
thirty minutes and we talked with this outcome: Mr. Martin would have the workers start at 6:00
A.M. in the future. He gave me two numbers to phone him if this did not occur. The numbers
were 972.304.4257 - this is not a working number~ the other is a cell phone: 817.999.9856 -
which we have never found to be working. Mr. Martin also told me initially that the workers
started at 6:00 A.M. on February 19(which was not true), but as I talked with him, he did change
his story.
On Monday, March 2, the work started at 4:28 A.M., but as Mr. Martin promised, the
spotlight w-as toward Coppell Road rather than into our bedroom. I, Larry, phoned the city that
day and spoke with the engineering department who told me to call and report to the police
department a disturbance if this continued to occur. On Wednesday, March 4, at 5:40 A.M. the
work started, but we did not call the police.
We would like to bring this to the attention of the city planners.
Thank you,
Larry D. Huckeba ~ ~ / ~ ~'~~
