Re: Denton Tap Road Improvements from Belt Line Road to Sandy
Lake Road - Water on the Roadway at the Sandy Lake Rd.
intersection.
Dear Mr. Doyle:
As requested in your November 14, 1988 memo, copy attached, we
have reviewed the existing paving and drainage facilities in the
southeast quadrant of the Sandy Lake Road /Denton Tap Road
intersection. It appears that the most practical and least
expensive solution to eliminating most of the flow of sprinkler
water out of the most northerly driveway from Town Oaks Centre
onto and across the northbound lanes of Denton Tap Road is to
construct inlets in the driveway as shown on the attached marked
print and tie them into the existing storm sewer system as shown.
We recommend that the work depicted on the attached print be
included in the scope of work of the current Contract for the
Denton Tap Road Improvements from Belt line Road to Sandy Lake
Road. The approximate construction cost of this work is
$6,000.00. This item can be charged to the contingency fund in
the project budget, copy attached.
Due to the fact that the work will have to be done on private
property, it will also require that two drainage easements be
acquired.
Unless directed otherwise, we will proceed to prepare the
necessary drainage easements. Upon receipt of the easements, we
will add the necessary inlet to the project.
We trust this meets with your approval.
Sincerely, _
Jo n C. Karlsruher, P.E.

Re: Attached Memo - Water on Roadway on Denton Tap at Sandy Lake
Dear Mr. Doyle:
Mr. John Karlsruher, the Project Engineer for the Denton Tap CIP,
is looking into the matter to determine the best method to handle
the problem.
Upon completion of his investigation, we will make field changes
to the Denton Tap plans that will facilitate picking up as much
of the sprinkler water as possible.
We believe that once the Denton Tap Road project is complete, the
problem will essentially be eliminated.
