Enclosed is a copy of the bid advertisement for the North
Texas Mail Processing Center that was published in the Commerce
Business Daily on July 21. The deadline for bidding was
September 8. I regret that it has taken me so long to get this
to you.
The Postal liason officers here in Washington keep telling
me the same old story with regards to the Coppell facility; the
Postal Board of Governors has not committed to spending FY89
construction money on the Coppell site; however, the prospects
"look real good." The Board has approved a FY89 construction
budget and has the flexibility to commit this money to particular
projects as it wishes throughout FY89. The next Board meeting is
scheduled for October 5 and 4. While the North Texas FacLlity is
not on the meeting's agenda, it could be brought up at any time.
