Attn: Ed Powell,City Engineer
Subject: Destruction of Northlake Woodlands Entrance Monument
located on south side of Bethel School Road, approx-
imately 100' West of interestion of Hidden Valley and
Bethel School Rd.
Ref: Your telcon C. Johnson - Ed. Powell on September 19, 1986
The subject entrance monument was erected in December, 1983,
by the Northlake Woodlands Homeowners Association, developers and
area builders at a cost of approximately $1,000.00 each. City
building permits were issued in aCcordance with the current sign
ordinance and all six of the monuments were constructed and in-
spected in strict accordinance with the Coppell building code.
Inspector Jim Stigleman personally assisted me in locating these
signs so they would comply with the code.
The contractor responsible for the construction of the new
Coppell Post Office has completely demolished this monument, in-
cluding the 12" footings. The destruction of this monument was
an irresponsible act and the N.L.W.H.O. Association expects
restitution to cover full replacement costs.
Your assistance in obtaining a settlement is sincerely
appreciated.
Respectfully,
Corrine Johnson
