Russ, staff has discussed with Bob Minyard of Minyard Properties the
possibility of the City accepting the existing sanitary sewer south
along the railroad R.O.W. at the Minyard's Distribution Center.
Staff's concern, which we have discussed, is the force main proposal
and the tie in location at Freeport & Bethel Road. Staff believes
the above alternative should be vigorously pursued which could provide,
depending on grade elevations, a gravity flow from the Postal site
east to Freeport.
Additionally, if grades will allow, the extension of the line west
could provide a sanitary connection for points beyond the Postal
Facility. Attached are maps which help identify these locations.
We would like to discuss this matter either at an upcoming DRC meeting
or we can set up a meeting with representatives of the Postal Facility
and/or Minyard's Properties.
Please get back with me on this matter. Thanks.
